Sulaiman Adebowale

Sulaiman Adebowale is the founder and director of Amalion. For nearly three decades in various editorial positions in Africa and in Europe, Sulaiman has been responsible for the management and production of technical, academic and literary titles from commissioning to the dissemination of finished products. Previously, Sulaiman was Managing Editor at the Council for the Development of Social Science Research in Africa (CODESRIA), Dakar, Senegal, coordinating a multilingual publishing programme of journals, book monographs, working papers and newsletters. He was Editor at the Bellagio Publishing Network in Oxford, UK, a group of publishers and development actors that worked to promote publishing in Africa and the South.

Sulaiman has worked in print journalism and as consultant editor for several organizations and institutions based in Burkina Faso, France, Nigeria, Senegal and the United States; including the African Institute for Economic and Development Planning (IDEP), Association for Migration, Leadership and Development (AMLD), École des hautes études en sciences sociales (EHESS), Institut de recherche pour le développement (IRD), the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), Open Society Initiative for West Africa (OSIWA), International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED Sahel), and the Union for African Population Studies (UAPS). He studied English at the University of Lagos, Nigeria and postgraduate studies in publishing and electronic media at the International Centre for Publishing Studies, Oxford Brookes, UK.

Sulaiman Adebowale est le fondateur et directeur d’Amalion. Depuis près de trente ans dans plusieurs rôles éditoriaux, Sulaiman est responsable de la coordination et de la production des ouvrages techniques, académiques et littéraires, de la conception à la diffusion et dissémination de produits finis. Il a été Managing Éditeur au Conseil pour le développement de la recherche en sciences sociales en Afrique (CODESRIA), Dakar au Sénégal, coordonnant une maison d’édition multilingue de revues, essais, monographies, documents de travail et bulletins, et éditeur à Bellagio Publishing Network, un réseau d’éditeurs pour la promotion de l’édition en Afrique et dans les pays du sud qui a été basé au Royaume-Uni.

Marie Ndiaye

Marie Ndiaye is Editorial Manager at Amalion. For three decades Marie Ndiaye has worked in the area of social sciences and humanities as programme assistant at the Council for the Development of Social Science Research in Africa (CODESRIA), coordinating various projects and exchanges involving scholars, development partners, state institutions and the general public. As an editor and translator, she has worked for several institutions including Amalion, CODESRIA, Goethe University Frankfurt, Institut PANOS, Naatal Mbay, and UNOWA. She translated from the English in collaboration with Y. Féhé Sarr and Issa Sarr, Le procès de Hissène Habré : comment les Tchadiens ont traduit un tyran en justice by Celeste Hicks (Amalion 2020) and Les faiseurs de pluie by Paul Kisakye (Amalion 2020).

Marie Ndiaye est Manager Éditoriale à Amalion. Pendant trente ans, Marie a travaillé dans le milieu des sciences sociales en tant que qu’assistante de programme au Conseil pour le développement de la recherche en sciences sociales en Afrique (CODESRIA), coordonnant des projets et échanges entre les chercheurs, partenaires de développement, institutions étatiques et le public. En tant que traductrice et correctrice, elle a collaboré avec différentes institutions internationale telles comme Naatal Mbay, Institut PANOS, UNOWA, Amalion, CODESRIA, l’Université Goethe de Francfort. Avec Y. Féhé Sarr et Issa Sarr, Marie Ndiaye a collaboré à la traduction de l’ouvrage de Celeste Hicks, Le procès de Hissène Habré : comment les Tchadiens ont traduit un tyran en justice (Amalion 2020). Elle a traduit le dernier livre de Paul Kisakye, Les faiseurs de pluie de l’anglais The Rainmakers (Amalion 2020).
